Children & Youth
As to thy question concerning training children: It is incumbent upon thee to nurture them from the breast of the love of God, to urge them towards spiritual matters, to turn unto God and to acquire good manners, best characteristics and praiseworthy virtues and qualities in the world of humanity, and to study sciences with the utmost diligence; so that they may become spiritual, heavenly and attracted to the fragrances of sanctity from their childhood and be reared in a religious, spiritual and heavenly training.

Bahá'u'lláh

From the Bahá’í Faith’s inception, youth have played an outstanding role as some of the Faith’s foremost champions and teachers. The Bahá’í community places great emphasis on the moral and spiritual education of children and youth, with a focus on providing ongoing opportunities for developing a sense of world citizenship and a lifelong commitment to serve humanity.

Children are the most precious resource a community has. Much like young trees, children grow and develop in whatever way they are trained and according to the influences they experience.

In keeping with the Bahá'í teachings that all religions are from the same God, the moral teachings found in all religions are fundamental to the classes. Topics include honesty, love, trustworthiness and kindness. Training helps teachers to conduct classes with love and discipline, integrating educational stories, music, cooperative games and creative arts.

Bahá'í education nurtures spiritually vibrant and healthy young people who will grow up without prejudice and with a positive, powerful sense that they are important to God and have a role to play in serving humanity.

Children's classes are hosted throughout San Francisco. To find one near you, please fill out the Request Information form.
