Centenary of the Visit of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá to California

‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Pillar of Peace was a two-hour commemoration–in music, film, drama
and oratory–of the Master’s momentous visit to California, the significance of which
is still unfolding. Years in the planning, the commemoration took place on
Sunday, September 9, 2012 at San Francisco’s historic War Memorial Opera House where the UN Charter was adopted in 1945.

Speakers were Dr. Firuz Kazemzadeh, Dr. Wilma Ellis Kazemzadeh and Mr. Hooper Dunbar.

Actors portrayed early Baha’is Robert Turner (Anthony Hamm), Helen Goodall (Nikki Gundry), Ella Goodall Cooper (Arria Bruss), Thornton Chase (Randy Dobbs) and John Bosch (Paul Bourque). Directed by Gary Bulkin. Costumes by Anne Perry.

Musicians included Sandy Simmons, John Davey-Hatcher, Munirih Sparrow, Lauren Grieve, JB Eckl and Eric Dozier.
